Reclaiming Space

This project went beyond a standard garage conversion, incorporating significant alterations to the rear section of the property. A wall was removed to open up the former bathroom, which was reconfigured into a new kitchen, while an existing bedroom was transformed into a living room. The garage itself was converted into a bedroom with an ensuite, resulting in a self-contained apartment – separate from the main house – designed to accommodate the client’s mother-in-law.

All works were carried out in full compliance with building regulations, following approval from the local authority. The front elevation of the former garage was updated with contemporary cladding, and the new living space was constructed with a raised floor featuring underfloor ventilation. The apartment benefited from carefully designed electrical and plumbing systems and was finished to a high standard throughout, with quality fixtures and decorative finishes completing the project.
